The Mzantsi Jazz Collective is a high-voltage powerhouse of modern Afro-jazz, co-led by the visionary pianist and composer Bokani Dyer. Born from Botswana’s soul and sharpened on South Africa’s competitive jazz scene, the trio—Dyer on piano, with lethal rhythm section Timothy Norton (bass) and Malachi Whitson (drums)—doesn’t just play music: they hunt it. Their sound is a storm of swinging post-bop, hypnotic groove, and raw, harmonic electricity.
